Hey, here I am. Sorry I promised not to leave you again for any period of time but you know, life has a funny way of keeping you busy especially when you´re alone with kids and dogs and the whole package. Thankfully the Captain came home last night. The downside is I am sick. Of course that is a downside but very typical. When we have little time together it will of course be while I am sick. Nothing terribly serious, but I ache in my whole body and have fever and almost no voice, lots of nose blowing...you know...the whole kitten caboodle...my Norwegian readers are thinking, Kitten Caboodle? Hahahaha...just means I have a terrible cold and feel lousy. But I will heal....I always bounce back and thankfully have a body who doesn´t break down long but when she is down I have to listen- maybe that is why I don´t break down for long...
This past weekend we went to a puppy show with Cookie again. She was the only puppy there, two of the other puppies entered weren´t there which was sad. It´s fun to win but would be more fun if we had competition and won! hahahaha! Never the less, a win is a win and the judge LOVED her. Said she had a very promising future and we couldn´t agree more! :-) I think the best part of showing Cookie for me is how much Julia is enjoying being her handler. This is a hobby close to my heart and Julia has never been interested in the big dogs but she LOVES showing Cookie who is more kitty cat size which Julia loves cats...so I love that Julia is loving what she is doing and we can do this together. Julia has always been interested in hobbies more along her dad´s favorite things to do, motorcycles, cars, things like that so it´s fun she finally is sharing this with me. Cookie and Julia make such a great team too, their hair color is exactly the same...so cute...don´t you think they are adorable together?
For the Captain´s arrival yesterday we made a lovely dinner and for desert White Chocolate Mousse. I followed the recipe in the link here BUT I did it all wrong! Can you imagine...I think my brain was skipping stages in the recipe. I didn´t heat the liquid up enough to melt the chocolate, so I strained the liquid from the chocolate and tried to melt it over a water bath, it didn´t become creamy but melted down and was warm....so I put that together with the liquid mixture and beat it to pieces until it all melted and became creamy and then continued by whipping up cream and adding that. I had a bite of mine last night and it was good but didn´t feel like anymore. The kids and the Captain loved it but said we put it in way too big glasses, so next time we need to find smaller bowls for the mousse as it´s very rich.
This has been a strange winter but never the less cold. As I get older I am not enjoying the cold as much as I use too. Especially when it only comes half hearted. I mean, when everything is magically white and it´s freezing cold and you have someone home to make a fire in the fireplace then there is an essence of coziness but when there is more ice then snow and it´s icy cold one day and warm the next and icy cold and then warm...and there is no one home to make a fire....then naw....no thanks! My mind then begins to dream of white sands....
Warm weather on my skin.....a home with a pool in the yard so I can take a morning dip after breakfast or maybe one before I head to bed.....in other words whenever I feel for it....
I dream of a home in the sun with an amazing kitchen so I can whip up lovely food creations even if I am only there temporarily....
Then I can burn off all those extra calories with a jaunt around the golf course if I don´t feel like a swim...
Yeah, it´s a wonderful dream......a dream we plan on living for two weeks in August when we head to Tauro near Playa Del Amadores beach on the Canary Islands (Grand Canaria). We´ll be renting the above home and experiencing the sheer pleasures of warm sunshine on our skin all day, every day, for 14 days before heading back to reality. Who knows...maybe someday the Captain and I will make this sunshine paradise our reality but for now we´ll just enjoy our two weeks and see what the future holds. What about you? Would you prefer living somewhere where it´s warm all the time or do you enjoy the different seasons?
That´s all for now folks...hope you have a wonderful Monday.
Until next time my friends...

I hope your cold is better . . . Your white chocolate mousse reminded me of another recipe to send . . .
Lucky you to spend fourteen days in a resort and the sun!
ENJOY . . .
I like to see it but not bask in it. Give me bright blue skies, no humidity and I am happy sitting in the screened porch reading a book . . .
Poor you - hope you feel better soon!
TWO whole weeks in that lovely house - sounds wonderful!
