Warm Winter Sun And Warm Whole Grain Rolls

Winter is on my head, but eternal spring is in my heart.
Victor Hugo

Up rose the wild old winter-king, And shook his beard of snow; "I hear the first young hard-bell ring, 'Tis time for me to go! Northward o'er the icy rocks, Northward o'er the sea, My daughter comes with sunny locks: This land's too warm for me!"
Charles Godfrey Leland

“Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face.”- Victor Hugo

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. - Charles Dickens

Another warming thought on a cold winter day is whole grained rolls. I guess what isn´t fair to those of you reading this and hoping for some recipe to follow is that I never follow a recipe when I make these which is why I get different results each time. But for these I used approximately the following: 1 kilo of whole grain wheat flour, 50 grams of flaxseed, 100 grams sunflower seeds, 200 grams oatmeal, 2tsp salt, 8tbsp veg.oil, 1 liter warm water, and 50 grams fresh yeast. I used my kitchen machine and mixed everything until I got a dough that released itself from the sides of the bowl. I let it rise for about 45 minutes. Then rolled them out and let them rise again for about 30 minutes and then baked them at 180C/350F for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. This is an easy recipe you can add too if you´d like...want some nuts in your rolls? Add em´! Want some herbs? Add em´! You can pretty much do what you want, but the more dry ingredients you add the more you´ll want to increase your liquids so you can get a dough that will release from the bowl or not stick to your hands.

Have a great hump day everyone!

Until next time my friends!

Two of my favorite subjects, sunlight and freshly baked rolls. It's hard not to smile at just the thought.
