Over The Hills And Through The Woods....

No, he´s not heading to Grandmother´s house...he´s not even heading to my house...he was just passing by...a lovely sleigh ride through the woods...so peaceful and charming. Do you see the poles sticking up in the back of the sleigh? When he uses his sled at night he lights those up with a fire so you can see him in the dark. I know this because he´s driven past my house at night with his sled and torches..it was charming...magical. Made me want my own horse and sled so I could do the same thing. But back to reality....while it would be fun with a horse that is one of those animals that is MUCH more difficult to get the Captain to agree on then sweet little babies like this one....
Isn´t she just the sweetest looking baby??? We went to two more puppy shows this past weekend and she was best in breed both days! The judges loved her and said she has a promising future!

Heck, I didn´t need a judge to tell me she has a promising future! I´ve been assuring her she has a promising future since she came to live with us. She´s is and will always be a highly loved and spoiled family member. Just like the rest of the four legged gang. The only difference is with this size it´s much easier to take her with us when we explore the world. So this little baby will be with us on future trips around Europe. Her rabies vaccination is already in the bag so now it´s just to decide where we will be going and arrange that she will be with us. For the big babies we have to leave behind when we travel we will be looking for a new kennel help as ours has travelled half way around the world to Australia for a study year. Anyone reading this and living in Norway- preferably around us- and interested in coming and being a babysitter for our gang when we need it (perfect job for students) let me know!

I´ve been really tired lately. Can´t really put it into words how tired I´ve been but I´ve tried going to bed early only to wake up in the middle of the night. Last night I was just sure I had overslept. Jumped up and looked at the clock and it was 2:15AM! I´m not sure what´s going on...but I will continue to try and get caught up on my sleep. There is a lot going on and I´ve had two very busy weekends so I am hoping my body is just reacting to that. What is your best advice to induce sleep? What´s your pre-bedtime routines?

Coffee anyone? A cup or two of coffee in the morning and I´m able to function despite a rough night but I almost never drink coffee past 2PM. Maybe I should cut coffee out completely? But it´s so good......ugh....and I have that fancy shmancy coffee machine that makes all the fancy shmancy coffees...hmmmm....

That´s all from me tonight...one of my favourite cooking programs is on TV now...Four Stars Dinner (Fire stjerne´s middag in Norwegian) where four famous people take turns having the other three over for dinner at their homes. This show satisfies my curiosity into how other people live and inspiration for new food to try :-) Do you have a favourite cooking show?

Until next time my friends.....

I would love to go for a ride in that sleigh! I love this little dogs eyes..the window of the soul..so sweet! My pre-bed time routine; wash and moisturize my face, massage my feet with lavender creme, and if I really want to sleep solid..lavender oil on the bottom of my feet and take one Advil. ;D

That horse and cart - so magical!

I think you can say yes to coffee, but not after 2 pm like you're already doing.

Don't use your computer or mobile just before bed as that stimulates you rather than making you sleepy. A warm bath with lavender oil in, and maybe some warm milk with honey or a herbal tea?

I find that reading at bedtime relaxes me.

Would love to see that sled go by my house at night . . .

Congrats to the pup!

Sleep . . .
No caffeine after 12 noon . . .
Realize women at a certain age begin with sleep issues because of "M issues". Get what I mean . . .
Your busy weekend no doubt has something to do with the "tired feeling."
Turn off all electronic, TV, music, iPad etc., it quiets our mind and allows a better sleep . . .

If tired feeling persists, check it out. I find cutting back on carbs helps me too!

I like to watch Ina Garten . . . Your show sounds great.

Amy that's too much of a coincidence!! I missed this post and went back after your comment on my sleighs!! I would love to see yours go by my cabin at night! Beautiful ! I won't give up coffee for anything and that's that!! I've heard electronic stuff does keep the mind/brain going longer then it should! I occasionally need to take a melatonin-non habit forming-over the counter- and it works for me! Good luck-no help with the dog sitting though maybe I should fly over for your vacations!! haha have a nice week!!~~Rain
