Five-Spice Beef Stir Fry With Broccoli
In Norway there is a grocery store chain called Kiwi and every weekend they have different specials on either beef, chicken, seafood, or pork called Go´Helg (Happy Weekend) products. These are basic ingredients and they cost only 16.90 Norwegian kroner which for Norway is super cheap. So I had bought five packages of beef filets earlier and thought I´d use them for our Friday night dinner. I found this recipe HERE. I had almost everything except for snow peas. However, I had broccoli so that would be my green...
I also didn´t have the sherry or the alternative for the sherry so I used some dry white wine. After googling what I could substitute the dry white wine was the closest I had on hand and it worked out perfectly. I also didn´t have light soy sauce so I just used regular soy sauce- again with great results.
This was such a tasty meal which was enjoyed by everyone- even the kids! Thomas had a buddy spending the night and he also liked it...so it´s not just my own kids I pay off here...hahahahaha...Julia thought it was a tad spicy but the Captain thought it was perfect and I loved that it had a little kick too it. What´s your preference? Spicy or not so spicy??
Have a great evening everyone!
Until next time my friends...
