Happy Father’s Day

norwaypics 31021-3

Any man can be a father.  It takes someone special to be a dad.  ~Author Unknown

All my life I would have to say I was closer to my Mom then my Dad…My Dad was great, don’t get me wrong, but he was the funny guy….the playmate…the bread winner, not the one I went too about personal stuff unless it had to do with my mom.

However, in the process of my mother’s illness, I spent a lot of time talking with my dad. I enjoyed getting to know the guy I called Dad and enjoyed all of our conversations and feeling as if we were getting closer then we had ever been before.

When my mom passed my family fell apart. We dealt with our sorrow in different ways and at some points it felt like we would never get back to that warm family feeling again…but thankfully we didn’t give up on each other completely and we have found our way back to each other and we’re facing the future together as a family.

I’m looking forward to the years ahead and getting to know my Dad even more and sharing things with him and learning from him. Laughing with him and crying with him….knowing all along that my Dad’s love is there for me always and forever.

I love you Dad…..

Happy father's day to your dad... what a wonderful tribute for him. I felt the same way about my dad since I'm closer to my mom. But when my mom passed away, I got so close with my father. He really made an effort to act as a dad and a mom to all of us.

Have a great day my friend! xoxo
