Winter Visitors…

In the winter we have many small birds who visit us looking for food. Stig made this bird feeder last year and it’s been the hottest spot around for these little feathered friends…

Yesterday instead of going to Sweden, which was the original plan, we decided to go to Gjøvik, which is about 45 minutes away. In fact you can see Gjøvik from our Island- since it surrounds the Mjøsa lake and we are in the middle of the Mjøsa lake…

As we drove I took the opportunity to take a few photos of the lake- it’s freezing and as you can see there is frost/fog rising from the lake as it slowly freezes…very neat looking…

Sorry for the bad quality in these photos, they were taken from the car at high speed with windows up…it was too cold to roll the windows down, even though I made the suggestion- everyone in the car yelled- NOOOOOO!!! hahahaha…

I’m off to have breakfast, put some laundry on, and take the doggies for a real workout across the field and into the woods…then we will take down our Christmas decorations today- so looking forward to that. Tomorrow work starts again, I’m working tomorrow in a new department with older kids- that was the original plan after the new year, but over the holidays a position has opened up in the department I was in originally and I might be able to get that and stay where I am…hoping for that- nothing against the other kids but good to finish where I start I think and we have a great team right now..all the kinks are finally worked out and we function really good together..

Have a lovely Sunday everyone- until next time…

Jag gillar fågelbilderna, men de som är tagna vid den frusna sjön är fantastiska. Jag kan känna hur kallt det är. Fota genom bilfönstre gör jag ofta när vi är ute och åker. (Chaffören vill inte alltid stanna!)

the bird feeder is great with its little roof of snow! I am sure you are the most popular residents on the island.... at least according to the feathered friends!

Amy, I always feel sad whenever I put down the decors and I did that today too. It's just like missing Christmas again and I can't wait to have them up again.

I love the idea of a bird feeder. There are a lot of birds in my garden lately and I think I will reward them with some seeds. But first I need a bird feeder.

I love your bird feeder. Today we took down our Christmas decorations. Normally I'd wait until after the 6th, but we had my parents here helping so I took advantage of that!
