Oh where to start, oh where to start?? Hmmm, let’s start at the beginning, shall we?? An Award….the adorable and wonderful Marilyn at Bestas Hus (Grandma's House) has so generously bestowed upon me a very sweet award-
Translation for my English readers, “ Award for a very cozy blog and for being who you are!” From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU Marilyn- you are such a sweetheart!! Even though her blog is in Norwegian, I suggest you check it out and use google translator…or some other internet translation program..she has a gorgeous home, makes yummy food, and has adorable grandkids- and she has American roots!!! COOL!!! I guess I need to pass this award along to two blogs and that is always hard because I could pass this along to many- but I’m going to pass this along to Sylvia at Hjemmebest (Home Is Best) whose home decor is only something I could dream about with all the animals I have, so I live vicariously through her blog and love all the photos of her gorgeous interior decorating- if you hurry you can catch her BEAUTIFUL Burleigh dishes she just posted about..
My second award recipient will be Hagemor (Garden Mother) I actually have had the absolute pleasure of knowing this wonderful blogger from my days living on Averøy- Eva Cathrin is a wonderful lady, great sense of humor- who is a whiz in the garden and quickly becoming a pro photographer!!! She is constantly impressing me with her photos on her blog and I have to admit, I almost feel a bit of nostalgia for ol’ Averøy when I see her nature photos…Averøy is without a doubt a nature lover’s paradise..so if you get a chance, check out her amazing photos!!
Next…recently my blog was visited by an amazing woman from Tennessee named Misha. Misha is an animal lover like me..in fact, Misha’s place is the kind of place I’d LOVE to visit and yes, her home is gorgeous, but I’d probably want to stay in the barns…with the animals…she has some breathtakingly beautiful horses, a herd of cats and some wonderfully sweet looking dogs, including a mastiff, and we all know how my heart beats for the giant breeds…I’d love a mastiff, great dane, irish wolfhound, newfoundland, but of course I’m so greatful my darling honey let’s me have the lionesses (and my “little” lion king) so I just keep my mouth shut and smile :-) It’s all good….WELL, Misha read my entire blog from start to finish- can you imagine?? I was like shaking my head in astonishment…it makes sense when you find a new blog you like but who has time for that??? Anyhoot- Misha has so very sweetly reviewed my blog for her blog readers and her incredibly kind words have left me speechless…again- amazing huh? ME -speechless!!! It amazes me just knowing people read my blog, to hear what they think of my blog and have it be so flattering- well, I just feel all warm and fuzzy….kinda like the Grinch when he discovered he had a heart- I don’t know what happens to me but I feel like dancing around the living room and stopping by each furry little face and shouting- “I LOVE YOU”….and then over to the non-furry faces, “I LOVE YOU MORE!!” I’m just sooooooo happy- did you get that???? ;-)) Good, now click here and visit Misha’s blog From My Front Porch In The Mountains I promise you, her blog will become one of your instant favorites- especially if you are an animal lover like me!!! Thanks again Misha- I’d give you the biggest bear hug if you were closer…
Speaking of bears…living in an arctic climate where it’s dark for many hours of the day, in the winter, you often feel like a hibernating bear- at a time when you should be full of energy all you can think about is curling up beside the fire and gettin’ a couple winks…Well, thankfully our days are slowly getting longer now but when you combine the darkened “daylight” hours with fog from a freezing lake you get a very dreamy scenario, which really doesn’t help the hibernating bear feeling..but it is gorgeous and I stayed awake long enough to take these shots for you…
The Captain has safely landed in Brazil and is now onboard his boat, the Skandi Møgster. If you’re interested you can follow his boat with this link, click on Brazil (Rio area) and zoom in…Live Ships Map look for Skandi Møgster. You can pull up photos of his boat, see how fast they are going (if they are moving at all) and some other stuff..I say stuff because the marina lingo is a bit much for this Mamma Bear…but if you’re into it, go check it out. I just want to know where this guy is..
Isn’t he goofy? I just love that gummy face of his and those big blue eyes…(mmm- melt)
As I was taking these photos he says to me, “You know, I am coming back!” I said “I know, but just in case…” hahahahaha….yeah…he gave me this look when I said that….hahahaha….bad girl Amy….well, you have to have a little humour or you go crazy when the love of your life leaves you for 6 weeks at a time…and baby do I have some humour…or so I think…
Ok, that’s it for today…thanks for stopping by, thanks to all the newbies who are leaving messages for me..you guys are the best and I’ve visited all of your blogs and all I have to say is…WOW…I’m so humbled by your wonderful blogs!!
Check out Nature Notes for links to some amazing nature blogs..
Until next time my friends…

Congrats on the award, Amy. And I love those dreamy pictures - both of the woods, and of your capt'n!
I had no idea that you could track marine traffic like you can air traffic. That's pretty cool and I'm sure very reassuring for you at home. I found your blog a couple of weeks ago and am loving your posts! Those dogs are gorgeous!
