My beautiful mother passed quietly away yesterday, 26th of May 2009. She was only 60 years young and had battled a horrible disease for many years with strength and courage. We leave for Dallas/Abilene on Friday so my blog will not be updated until after we are back around the middle of June. Make sure to give those you love a hug and tell them you love them before it’s too late…

Texas In My Thoughts..
Every now and then my thoughts wander off to Texas…
I think about how things would have been had we chosen a different path in life…my kids would have made great country bumpkins…
I think of ranches where you never see the main house from the main gates because the ranches are so big you have to drive miles past the front gate in order to see the homestead..
I think of livestock, some wild and untamed…
I think of Pappadeaux’s Seafood Kitchen in Dallas..and eating alligator there for the first time in my life…
I think of Texas wildflowers…
But mostly when I think of Texas, I think of family…it’s the one part about living overseas you never get comfortable with- being so far away from the ones you love, especially under difficult times..
Happy Trails to you my friends….

Yours Truly…New and Improved..
We have truly stumbled upon a true blessing with our hairdresser…she is wonderful, kind, fun to talk too, and best of all CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!! Sarah got her hair trimmed and I got mine cut and highlighted and we paid 550kroner…that is NOTHING!! It was so cheap I allowed myself the luxury of buying some styling products that she used in my hair…and I was still under 1000 Norwegian kroner!!! This is amazing, I had a friend who got her hair cut and coloured and paid around 1600 kroner for her alone…and we were 2 who got our hair done!!! Sorry to go on and on about this but when you find something cheap and good in this country you feel like doing the happy dance…here I go…my feet are tapping…oh yeah….
And here are the results- the new and improved hostess of this page…
Otherwise a sunny beautiful day on the big island in the middle of the lake…just adore days like this…lying on the veranda, close your eyes and listening to the birds chirp…every now and then a crazy little Aussie pup who has to bark at everything…but mostly quiet…wonderful!
Have a great day folks…

The Adventures Of…..
Cape girl and Junior!!! One lovely Sunday afternoon Cape Girl was training Junior in the art of super hero fighting…
“Oh can I be the bad guy with the cool guns????” asked an over eager Junior…
“No! Of course not you fool!! The bad guys are who we are trying to save the world from! Now pay attention will you!! First lesson is how to fly…” With that Cape Girl took a mighty leap and flew up into the air…
“Yeah yeah, impressive.” whined Junior “Now when do we get to the good stuff like the fighting??”
“Fine Fine, if it’s fighting you want then pay attention, now I will teach you the super kick and twist…you can use this when you are fighting evil mondroids who want to take over the world..Pay attention…are you watching?” Cape Girl said as she began her amazing moves..
“OK, my turn to try…stand back!!” warned Junior.
Not to be out done by the novice Junior, Cape Girl jumps into action once again…
Quickly realizing Junior’s attention span was fading Cape Girl decides to show him her total demolition move..
Followed quickly by the lock n’ brace move….
“Ok, your turn, show me what you’ve got Junior!” Cape Girl taunted.. With that Junior gave it all he had….
Impressed with Junior’s abilities but not wanting to admit that he could be becoming better then her, Cape Girl called a truce and once upon her feet again reminded Junior who was still the REAL super hero between the two of them..
Being the sweet guy he is, Junior let Cape Girl have her moment…knowing that someday he would get his revenge…..
This has been an amazing adventure of Cape Girl and Junior….Y’all come back now ya hear…..
