The Captain arrived home today from Sunny Brazil with temperatures over 36C to our frozen wonderland with –10,5C temps…his tanned smiling face that jumped off the train today was such a wonderful sight! Now for the next six weeks we will enjoy a warm house- even when we’ve been at work and school all day, things that have broken down or fall apart will be fixed by our wonderful handyman….Oh yes, we love him for so much more then what he can do for us, but these things are really treats, especially when you have to go without for six weeks at a time…
One major thing we will be doing ASAP if I can help it, is decorating our house for the holidays. We’ve gotten a few things up but the lights outside have to be hung by the pro….the Captain himself…oh sure I could learn to do it myself, I’m all for women’s equality but I love having a man do these things for me….not just any man….but MY MAN…hehehehe…
I’m inspired by this video, though I’m just not sure my viking friends are ready for something like this….would be fun though…can hear them talking about it already….well, we’ll put up a lot of lights, not this many…but lots for Norwegian standards….we’ll be minus the music also…but still I’m sure it will be gorgeous…I’ll take photos as soon as everything is up…
Some might find this a bit much but can you imagine being a small child and seeing this? And that is really who Christmas is for…the children…it’s a magical time and this is definitely magical…..
How will you be decorating for Christmas? Do you go overboard and do the magical thing or are you conservative in your decorating?
Until next time my friends….

yay for wonderful homecomings!

Welcome home Captain!
I have set-up our Christmas tree, hang wreaths and garlands, changed the throw pillow covers to Christmas motif... the thing that I didn't do this year is put on lights outside which is more for security reasons. You see, there are a lot of house burglars here nowadays and they choose houses based on the amount of decorations made. Maybe they were thinking that the more decorated the houses would mean that the persons living there are rich.
we had a house just like this in Allen! They had it set up to their laptop and it had over 10K lights... I always wondered how they slept at night with all that light coming in the windows! Maybe each Scandinavian town needs one house like this to give us light in the dark winter!!!
Welcome home to the Capt!
