It never stops to amaze me that with as many walks as we have in the woods we rarely see these guys….and yet here they are…it was very foggy when I took these photos and I’ve tried to give the photo as much colour as possible so you could see the woodland resident who sneaks around the woods and avoids me and my four legged gang with amazing accuracy.
The other day we went into the woods these deer are walking into and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was these two we met in there, but we stood just a few yards from each other but the deer were extremely well blended into the woodsy background, so while I saw them, the dogs just smelled them. Even Jenny and the two pups who were running loose ran everywhere but where the deer were!! Instead of waiting to be found these two turned and high tailed it out of our view as quick as possible. I was grateful for that, while I enjoy seeing them I don’t like being on the other end of a leash to a very eager leonberger who would LOVE to run after the deer to say HI…..
I know I promised photos of the climb we take on our walk, but to be honest I forgot my camera. I’ve been moving at a snail’s pace all day long and really wasn’t in the mood for a walk today but another one of my lovely friends wanted to take a walk and asked me to join her, I couldn’t say no. So out we went and she flew up the place where we climb up and I was huffing and puffing and cursing the whole time that I forgot my camera and about how tired I was…but then again we all have days like this right?
Tonight I’m enjoying rice krispie treats Sarah made…semi fat free?? hahahaha…it’s a compromise…come on guys…give me a little break..I’m trying….sort of…
Until next time my friends…

Beautiful shots. I love seeing deer, most likely because they ARE so elusive!
I'll give you a break because I just ate one of those small Snickers bars.....

I get so excited every time we see one too!! And those tails!! HUGE!!! Those little miracles in nature......
That's amazing... maybe the deer thought that you can't see him because of the fog. Great capture... I wish I live where you live. I love nature so much.
Dear friend - I really hope you're feeling better.
Love the deer. Three ran out in front of the car yesterday as I was driving to the woods!
what beauty you're surrounded with - that's wonderful
