The following are photos from our get together today. Our original plan was to go into the mountains and hike with the families who co-own puppies with us. However, our car doesn’t have decent winter tires and we were informed that they had 30cm of snow up in the mountains. So we changed plans and invited everyone to our house where we walked in the woods here and then came back and made a fire in the outdoor fireplace and grilled hot dogs, made smorès (a new experience for some of our Norwegian guests), and I found out yesterday that my one co-owner had a birthday yesterday so I made a carrot cake for her birthday today. Sarah baked M&M cookies with the M&Ms we bought in Sweden and we had a really great time. Kids played, dogs played, adults visited, and we ate…oh and hiked, but we did that first, then we sat around the fire for awhile until it became just too cold to be comfy and we went inside for cake and coffee/tea.
I love a busy house with LOTS of people around. I know I stress to keep everyone happy but I love it and I’m exhausted when they leave but extremely happy!! Tonight Julia has some of her friends here, her best friend Tor Olav and another boy named Robin. I’ve made dinner and just heard from Tor Olav the following: “ Everything I eat here that you’ve made is wonderful!” This also makes me happy. I hinted that I’d be making spare ribs this weekend and if he happened to be in the neighbourhood he was welcome to join us…he smiled….I did too…I love taking care of people…makes me happy to fill their bellies and show them a nice time!
Tomorrow Stig and I will be heading to IKEA, hopefully to do some Christmas shopping, that was our plan when we recently went to Sweden, but we only found food…hahahaha..so hopefully we’ll have better luck at IKEA!
