I’ve been a bad blogger…but I’ve been busy. What? You’ve been busy too and still blogged??? Ok, I’ll admit it, you’re better then me…I’ve wanted to blog, I’ve wanted to read blogs but there just hasn’t been time to really sit down and do more then glimpse at various blogs and to write something myself! HA! Not likely….but…hopefully the tide is changing, even if it’s a slow change…hopefully I can begin to write a little more now in the future.
On top of puppies who are doing great and totally adorable (Judge for yourself):
We have had company, excited puppy buyers and the most enjoyable visit so far was from Kelli and her family, Mads and Jess from Denmark. ( Mads and Kelli's Blog) Well, for those who don’t know it, Mads is the only Dane and Kelli and Jess are Texan girls! Now that you are caught up on that I need to be honest and tell ya, I usually don’t seek out meeting other Americans here in Europe. I know I’m going to sound horrible but we’re a special breed of Americans who live in Europe and it’s not like being in the states where the chances of hitting it off with each other could be quite high, I’ve found here in Europe the chances are usually slim that you’ll hit it off, so I just save myself the time and don’t usually seek out Americans over here. Thankfully though, Kelli sought me out and I’m glad she did. That “one slim chance” arrived at my house with her family around midnight Friday and after a brief hello and look at the pups they retired to the apartment and we headed to bed. First impressions were good but what would the next days bring? Thankfully they brought a lot of laughs and good conversations. Kelli is that one in a million guest who really is interested in knowing about the place you live and has a million questions and I unfortunately fell short when it came to answering them but in my defence I was caught off guard! Usually people just talk about how pretty it is here and how can they get to the beach and the weather. So I was caught off guard when someone was asking what the statue outside of the cafe in Tingnes was about and taxes in Norway and so on..hahahaha…I’m sure I sounded like a bumbling idiot a lot of times but Kelli is such a sweet person she saved her “oh my goodness is she really that dense?” comments for when she got up to the apartment…hahaha (just kidding Kelli) Seriously though, we had a great time and can really see getting together with them again. I tried to save my image by cooking and baking a bunch of goodies so that even though I wasn’t giving them a bunch of facts I was giving them something good to eat and they responded well to everything I gave them which made me quite happy! I love cooking for people, especially when they are so appreciative.
We took walks in the woods, picked blueberries with our new berry pickers (although I’ll admit I passed mine off to Stig who had a better technique then me and I wandered around with Mads and picked wild strawberries and ate them..hahahaha) Of course you’d love photos of our berry picking wouldn’t you? Yes, well….who thinks of taking their camera out when it’s raining? Not me…so you’ll just have to enjoy these photos of Kelli, Mads, and Jessica’s visit:
Kelli insisted she wasn’t much of a motor girl, wasn’t into the motor vehicles and fun boy toys..but she sure looked like she was having fun on the ATV….
Kelli and Mads fur baby, Albert, had to stay home this time because of a mix up on the blood tests needed to travel. While Birdy is a tad bigger then Albert, I’m sure it was still nice to have some fur to cuddle up too while they were with us and Birdy did her best impression of a lap dog…
Kelli, Jess, and Mads here in Norway:-))
It’s not often I publish photos of myself but in honor of Kelli’s visit, here is a photo of the two of us…
Jess is a very sweet and charming young lady and my gang had a great time getting to know her. Especially Sarah enjoyed having someone closer to her age in the house and asking questions about high school in Texas since she will be going over for a year in a Texas high school next year. Sarah loved how Jess wasn’t afraid to throw out a little Y’all every now and then to the Norwegians around them when they went to the movie theater Sunday…
It was just such a great visit and I could write indefinitely about how wonderful we thought Kelli, Mads, and Jess were- but I think you guys get the hint don’t ya???
We also had a visit from Mona and her family. Mona is the woman responsible for introducing Stig and I 17 years ago. We’ve been friends ever since and I’ve often joked with her that she is responsible for my life being where it is right now so she will always have to be a part of our lives..and I’m glad she is..She finally became a mother herself in February and this was our first visit with little Malin who is an absolutely adorable “little” baby!!! :-))
Our puppy buyers are also lining up to stop in for a visit and this lovely couple will be co-owning this handsome little fella with us. His name will be Bently which is special to me because my soul dog’s name was Ben…They didn’t choose their pup’s name based on the fact that my beloved dog’s name was Ben, but just the irony that the first dog from my own breeding that I will co-own has Ben’s name in it is really special for me!!
Well folks, that’s it for now..you’ll have to stay patient with me..I promise I’ll come back with a punch after these fur babies leave and the summer settles down. I hope you’re summer is bright and full of fun and good times with family and friends…until next time my friends…

What a great post and wonderful pictures! I would love to get to Norway at some point but it doesn't look like it would work out this summer - maybe next summer we can venture up there!
