Today my friend Anette joined the girls and I on a walk. I wanted her to show me some of the paths I’ve heard about on this island but didn’t know where to find. So we took a long walk starting in the woods here by the house and went in toward some neighbouring farms and then into the woods on a path that I’ve got to have passed several times before without ever noticing. I can’t describe the feeling I get in the woods…it’s so peaceful even when walking in a group like we did today…it’s so beautiful and calming. I love it more then I can say!!!
Anette is a really lovely person who I am enjoying getting to know more and more. We only started becoming acquainted last summer/fall and she is someone I have had a great feeling about since day one and everytime we are together I feel even more and more confident about our friendship. She is very easy to talk too and has a wonderfully charming laughter and a beautiful smile. Making friends in a land that isn’t your own isn’t always the easiest thing to do and when you meet someone who you feel a connection too you hope it will result in a lifelong friendship but of course that isn’t always the case…but you are allowed to hope. I’ve had “friends” before I thought would be my friend all my life- they were wonderful and then they showed me their true colours- which weren’t pretty…so I’m always wary when on the path to a new friendship…and Anette has expressed a similar feeling which I felt connected us even more!!! Friends don’t always have to agree- but honesty in a relationship is important- if you can’t feel that the person you are friends with is an honest person- that they are one thing with you and another with someone else you can’t have a real friendship either. I’m very hopeful with Anette and am glad she seems interested in pursuing a friendship with me also!!
Here are a couple more photos of the beautiful woods…
I have to admit a part of me wondered about getting lost on this new path but as Anette pointed out (smart girl as she is) it’s kinda hard to get lost on this island…one place or another you’re going to come out to a familiar sight…and she has a great point!!! So it’s just to explore and have fun!!! Going to try and make this walk a several times a week thing and also try and find even more paths…I’ll come back with reports of what I find!!!
Have a great night folks!!!

I love walking in the woods and quite often get lost... sometimes worryingly so, but somehow manage to find my way back!
I cannot wait to get there and experience that divine beauty myself!!!!
AWESOME!
