Growing Up and Moving On…

March09 088-2

It happens to all of us…the day we “grow up” and have to move on with our lives- saying goodbye to mom…it’s never easy but for some of us it’s easier then others…especially if our start in life was one of the best we could possibly have.  This weekend little Jenny said goodbye to her mom and all of her adorable siblings and to her “grandma” Anne Marthe and the rest of her human family and moved in with the lionesses, old mamma Heidi, and the rest of our family and after only a couple days she is already acting like she has been here forever!!! She is so happy go lucky and loves everyone and everything…she walks around with a happy little strut as if she is saying to the world- “Hey look at me- I’m cute, I’m happy, oh yeah…did I mention I’m cute?”

To say we are pleased with our new family member is an understatement…she is so fantastic and so LITTLE!!! After all these giant babies we’ve had in our family having someone this size around here is a real challenge. I’m scared to death to walk normally around here because I might stomp on her without seeing her…so I am shuffling my feet around hoping I’d bump into her instead of stomping on her!!! hahahaha!!

Stig brought her to the daycare this morning and of course I didn’t bring my camera, didn’t really know she would come down today but we were out and it was sunny so I called him and told him to bring her down…she had a blast…loved the kids and ran around the daycare with a flock of children behind her like she was trying to see what kind of fun they could all find together…it was extremely cute to see!!!

We also had Americans visiting this past weekend.  We were told they would arrive on Sunday but Saturday morning after cleaning all morning long we get a phone call from the guy we bought our house from that they were standing outside and wondered if they could come in!!!! Stig went out to distract them, I put the sweeper away and ran to the bedroom to put my bra on and a little makeup…then I came out and said hi to two very nice ladies from California. They were on a whirlwind tour and would be in the area until Monday. It was fun to talk with Americans again and the kids were all going on about how fun it was to have Americans in the house again and how talkative they are!!!! I didn’t especially notice how talkative they were but guess it takes a Norwegian to notice something like a talkative American…hahahahaha…

Jenny’s siblings were here from Saturday til Sunday and let me tell you- I am still excited about having a leo litter but I kept thinking….these are 8 almost 8 week old Aussie pups and they are the size of leo pups at about 3-4 weeks old….so it’s going to be so “fun” with 8 or so leo pups running around here in the summer…twice the size and all over the place….felt like I was at work, kept counting all the children to make sure they were still here…they managed to find the only patch of grass under the veranda and everyone migrated there each chance they got…but some were adventurous and climbed ontop of the snow and around the back of the house…some thought under the cars was fun….to say we were exhausted Sunday night would be a BIG understatement…but it was so fun that you just don’t feel right complaining about it either. We really enjoyed all of our company and are looking forward to the next time we can play host to more company!!!

I’ll leave you now, the neighbour is coming with her 11 month old Irish Wolfhound who is the same mentality level as our little Swede (Nanna) but TALLER…yes, this adorable guy looks like a little horse…and reminds us of Chet in that Santa Clause film (Just like Nanna reminds us of Chet) the one that says DUH DUH DUH DUH DI DUH….difficult to get that one to sound the same in written form as if I was here doing the impression for you…but you are smart people…use your imagination and have a great day!!!! Until next time….

I think you got the 'pick of the litter'...Jenny is just adorable! I'm sure she entertained the children at the daycare in fine fashion!

Enjoy her puppyhood!

Oh, your little Jenny is so cute. And do Americans really talk a lot? Hmmm. I guess maybe compared to some . . .

I know just what you mean... met a guy from Germany last week who spoke great English, so during our convo, I just barreled in and must have been going fast because his face got more and more blank as I talked and then he admitted... I did not get a single thing you said!

Oh, we Americans are a special breed!
