COLD

Had my first work day today after the holidays and so not a lot of exciting things to write about really but I thought I'd share this photo with you of my friend's dog who visited over the holidays...I just love this photo...do ya think it was cold??? Well...it is! And it's still cold...everything has a magical twinkle too it, especially at night. If only I knew how to take great photos at night...when we walk in the evening after dark and the moon is shining brightly the snow twinkles like there are thousands of diamonds lying all around! It's breathtaking but I'm afraid my photography skills wouldn't do the view justice...so you'll just have to use your imagination if you don't get the chance to experience it yourself!!

Sarah hasn't been able to put down the Twilight book...was up until 4 this morning reading and is still reading now...guess I better head back to Amazon for the second book....The Stickman and Aliens Love Underpants were also hits..the kids loved the way they rhymed...even my 13 year old thought those two were hillarious....that is another one of our new year resolutions...less tv and more reading...some keep those book recommendations coming folks...

The kids helped Stig clean up the house today and pack away Christmas. The red curtains are still up and a few Christmas plants are lying around and the lights outside are still there but otherwise it's all gone and I'm glad...I love the fresh start of the new year. Christmas is over for another twelve months and just as well! We promised the kids a new season pass to the ski hill if they helped clean today so they were all apparently very good at helping their dad...hey...I'm not against bribing kids if it gets the job done...I'll use blackmail, bribing...you name it to get some help from those free loading punks anytime anywhere!!! Ok Ok...I'm just joking around with the name calling...I love these guys to pieces and anyone who knows me knows that and knows that the previous statement was a joke but since y'all are just getting to know me I figured I'd better explain myself.

The Captain got word today that he is being sent back on board Monday. They are hoping to get the visas to Brazil in order Monday morning and the guys will leave Monday evening. You always know these times are coming when he will leave again but it's still depressing when it happens...I get use to the cutie being around...and I guess I also start to fear what will happen when he's gone because something ALWAYS happens...I just wait to see how long it takes until something happens....hmmmmm...I'll add a photo of my honey....he looks like a sea captain doesn't he? All he is missing is the parrot on his shoulder....but he'd never have a parrot....I would....but he wouldn't....hahahaha..

Tomorrow the girls and I are going to the salon to get our hair done, it's part of my new year's resolution to be more girlie...was going to colour my hair but I got so many compliments on my bimbo blonde look at the party we went too during the holidays that I decided to continue the blonde madness awhile longer..but I might have her trim my ends or something...girls are getting layered cuts but keeping their length..should be fun..they are excited and that makes me a happy mamma...

Have a great night...

Cannot wait to see the new "dos" after you 3 get back from the salon! I hope you have an incredible GIRLS DAY!

Jess told me the TWILIGHT books are getting hard to find in Texas...they are so popular that the stores are selling out! So if you find all 3 of the others, you might want to snag them all! Just in case.....

I wish I could be closer to you guys while Capt. Stig is away.... but I know you have a great support system there. I promise to be your "online lifeline" if need something!! :o)

Yes - do post a picture of your new hairdos, please!

It is really cold here too - I just love those ice crystals that twinkle like diamonds. They are huge - the size of small houses! We got a dusting of snow today so the snowplough has been out and ploughed a track for the ice skaters on our lake.

I can recommed The Flanimals by Rick Gervais (I wrote about these books on my blog not so long ago).

Have they read the Harry Potter books? They are well-written and very exciting!
